So you’ve chosen a venue, found your dream wedding dress, organized dates with all of your vendors and have chosen your wedding flowers. Congratulations! If you’ve made it through all of that without tearing your hair out or turning into bridezilla then, you’re doing well. With all of the ‘big stuff’ out of the way, you’re free to turn your attention to the finer details. These are important as they are what will make your wedding really special, personal to you and ultimately what people will remember most about the day. Here are some of the ways to go about it.
Put Together Bridesmaids Hampers
Your bridesmaids are likely to be busy helping you to get everything set up on the run up to the wedding. Show your appreciation by putting a little something together for them! You could give it to them in the morning as you’re all getting ready. It could be as simple or as expensive as you like, and include little gifts and a few treats to enjoy both before and after the wedding. If you wanted to go all out, you could invest in personalized matching dressing gowns for everyone to get ready in. This would also make for some great ‘getting ready’ photos!
Personalize Your Wedding Reception Tables
Instead of using numbers, you could assign names of special places to each table. It could be the place you grew up, where you met, where you got engaged or your first holiday together. You could even include photos with your table name/ number to make it more personal still! You’re able buy things like engraved acrylic hearts on eBay and Etsy to decorate the tables with, which include your names and the date of the wedding. You could even tuck handwritten notes into the napkin of each guest. It could be your favourite memory together, or just reminding them how special they are to you.
Set Up an Area For Children
If you have children coming to your reception, there are a few things you can do to make the day more enjoyable for them as well as their parents! You could simply include some activities at their seat to keep them occupied. Or you could set up a table with crafts, and other things for them to do throughout the evening. You could even hire out an extra room and a babysitter, and set up some games or movies for them to watch. Parents can are able to check on them whenever they need to for peace of mind, but it allows them to enjoy the evening without worrying about their children.
Provide Wedding and Reception Programs
Order of service wedding cards useful for keeping your guests updated as to what will be happening during the day. For the wedding, it includes things like details of the wedding party, which hymns or songs will be played, and the times that any readings or blessings will be taking place along with the ceremony itself. For the reception, it includes times for the speeches, cake cutting, meal service and first dance. It’s a great way to let your guests know what will be happening throughout the day, and is a nice additional touch.
Give Thoughtful Wedding Favours
Your wedding favours are the perfect way to thank guests for attending your big day. After all, going to a wedding is time consuming and expensive. Most will have bought a new outfit, a gift for you, paid for travel and possibly even hotel stay. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but a small token of your appreciation is a nice way to show people you’ve thought about them. Have a look online for ideas, and work out what’s the best option for you.
Greet Every Guest
Even if you’re having a large wedding with lots of guests, it’s important to greet each one. This includes and plus-ones, as even if you don’t know them well, they are obviously important to the guest that brought them along. Even if it’s just for a short time, speak to everyone and thank them for coming. It’s the polite thing to do, and your guests are sure to appreciate it. So leave time in the schedule for greeting and mingling.
