Over the years I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with many great professionals in the wedding industry. Being stuck at the shop 7 days a week during the summer months doesn’t offer much opportunity for socializing outside the cake world and so it’s special when I meet someone that I can connect with outside of the industry.
I met Jodi Gagne of Simply Perfect back in 2010 and as we navigated through our first cake consultation with her bride and groom, it struck me that she believed in and cared about the couple sitting next to her. She completely won me over with her straight forward, no nonsense approach, giving her clients exactly what they want and more. By more, I mean she cares and I could feel it the minute she shook my hand and proceeded to pull out a black binder. I’ve openly admitted to Jodi my envy of her ability to transform a plain binder into a big black book of timelines, contracts and mood boards dedicated to each couple. I would get married all over again just to have a book of my own!
