Buying your wedding dress is one of the most exciting parts of the whole planning process and it can be very hard to choose. When you’re sat in a bridal shop with rails full of all sorts of different dresses, where are you supposed to start? Obviously, you need to find something that makes you look amazing, but that’s not the only thing you should think about. These are some of the things you need to consider when you’re picking your wedding dress.

The Theme Of The Wedding

You’ve probably put a lot of thought into the theme of your wedding. All of the decorations, the cake, the table settings etc. all follow this theme. If you’re very concerned about the theme of the wedding and you want it to be perfect, you need to consider this when you’re picking the dress. If you choose a dress that doesn’t fit with the theme at all, it might stand out as a bit odd in the photos. That doesn’t mean that you need to limit yourself, just take it into account when you’re looking at different styles of dress. For example, if you’ve got a very traditional princess theme for the wedding, you don’t want a minimalist, modern looking dress.

The Rings

This one doesn’t matter that much because it’s only a small thing, but you need to consider the rest of your outfit when you’re choosing the dress. The shoes and other jewelry comes after so that doesn’t matter too much, but the wedding rings may already have been picked out. When you’re looking at dresses, think about how they’re going to match up with your wedding ring.

Comfort

Looking good is obviously one of your main priorities, but you’ve got to consider comfort as well. You’re not just going to be walking down the aisle in your dress, you’re going to be spending the rest of the day and night in it. If you’re not comfortable in your dress, it can put a bit of a dampener on your day. When you’re trying the dress on, try walking around the shop in it for a bit to get a better idea of how heavy it is and what your range of movement is like. Even if you find your perfect dress, it’s important that you make sure that it’s actually going to be comfortable as well.

The Price

Really, you should be looking at the price first to make sure that it’s within budget. Even though it’s your wedding day and you want everything to be perfect, that’s no reason to put yourself in debt. There are plenty of amazing wedding dresses that don’t cost the earth so don’t go in thinking that you’re definitely going to spend massive amounts of money. Set yourself a budget before you go into the shop and let the attendant know how much you’re willing to spend so you don’t end up falling in love with a dress that you just can’t afford.

If you keep these things in mind when you’re picking your wedding dress, you can choose the perfect one that comes in on budget.
